NOTE: This is a Male to Female HDMI Extension Cable
This HDMI cable meets the HDMI High Speed Test specification and includes the following features.
High Speed HDMI - Supports increased single-link bandwidth to 340 MHz (10.2 Gbps) to support the demands of future HD display devices, such as higher resolutions Deep Color, and 3D resolutions.
Deep Color HDMI Support - Supports 10-bit, 12-bit and 16-bit RGB color as well as x.v.Color, sYCC601 Color, Adobe RGB color and Adobe YCC601 color depths for stunning rendering of over one billion colors in unprecedented detail.
HD lossless Audio Formats: Supports new lossless compressed 7.1 digital audio formats Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio.
HDMI Ethernet Channel - HDMI Ethernet Channel technology consolidates video, audio, and data streams into a single HDMI cable, combining the unmatched signal quality and convenience of HDMI connectivity with the power and flexibility of home entertainment networking. It incorporates a dedicated data channel into the HDMI link, enabling high-speed, bi-directional networking at up to 100 Mb/sec.
Audio Return Channel Allows an HDMI-connected TV with a built-in tuner to send audio data "upstream" to a surround audio system, eliminating the need for a separate audio cable.
4K Support Enables video resolutions far beyond 1080p, supporting next-generation displays that will rival the Digital Cinema systems used in many commercial movie theatres.
3D HDMI Support High Speed HDMI cables support 3D when connected to 3D devices.
The HDMI Cable Construction Information
24AWG Conductors - 24AWG is the approved wire gauge for High Speed HDMI cables up to 10 meters in length. HDMI Cables beyond 10 Meters are recommended to be 22AWG (22AWG is a very stiff Cable) or be 24AWG with the use of an added HDMI equalizer to meet the High Speed HDMI test specification. 24AWG is the perfect size for longer length and maximizing the HDMI cable flexibility.
Tinned Copper Conductors - Tinned copper for HDMI cable lifetime reasons. Copper and silver plated copper conductors will oxidize over time which will result signal degradation. You might think that the insulation on the conductor would prevent oxidation but consider the cable construction. HDMI cables have 19 conductors plus shields. The insulation of each conductor must be minimized or the cable diameter would be too large to manage. Insulating materials will slowly allow atmospheric conditions to permeate over time and corrode the conductors. The use of tinned copper eliminates the concern of oxidation
Conductor Insulations - The use of FPE (Foamed Polyethylene) and HDPE (High Density Polyethylene) conductor insulations provide excellent dielectric constants and reduced capacitance to insure the best signal integrity
Triple Shielding - Maximum rejection of EMI and RFI noise is achieve with the use of 1 Outer braided shield plus 1 outer Mylar foil shield and 1 Mylar foil shield for each pair of conductors.
