The DVDOฎ iScan VP50 is a high-definition video processor and A/V hub that converts standard definition, high definition (including 1080p) and PC signals from your DVD player, HD-DVD player, Blu-ray Disc player, HD DVR, game console or PC to any output resolution between VGA and 1080p, including popular HDTV resolutions such as 720p and 1080i.

So what's the big advantage of having a product like this? Well in our own words and based on our own testing:
1) You will get smoother crisper images because of the advanced video processing and de-interlacing capabilites provided in the VP50..
2) This one we are in love with this feature. You can fine tune the image brightness, contrast, color for each input coming in separately which is huge. Often times you will find that your DVD player, VCR, Playstation, satellite box etc does not allow you to set the individual picture controls and the images look vastly different on you display deivce. We all know that these devices will have variations in the picture when displayed onthe same display device. Formerly you would have to play a balancing act with you display device (TV, Projector etc.) to find some happy point in brightness, contrast, color etc. Not anymore!!!
3) You can connect almost anything you have - VCR, Camcorder, etc with a low res composite/s-video connection, improve the quality and send it to the display device via HDMI or Component Video
